Bex Vintage

Becca Black is BEX Vintage. BEX Vintage began a year ago and combines Becca’s passion for transforming natural objects into contemporary home décor, along with finding and restoring vintage home furnishings. Becca has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Alberta College of Art & Design, where she majored in Painting, and previously studied film photography with a penchant for spending hours in the dark room.

I have always had an interest in the relationship between the natural world and what we build as humans within or around that world. Antlers are fascinating natural objects, both sculptural and textural with a density between wood and stone. Deer shed their antlers every spring and grow a new pair, leaving the old pair to become a found object, a representation of something old making way for something new. I like to bring these natural objects indoors after modifying them to reflect a human influence.
