Caroline Forde Designs

Caroline Forde was born in Hamilton, Ontario and is a graduate of Sheridan College's Textile Program. She has moved to Calgary, Alberta to finish her BFA in Fiber at the Alberta College of Art and Design.

In her youth Caroline has always loved drawing, painting and crafting. Her interest in the outdoors grew through her adventures on tall ships, sailboats and camping throughout Canada.

She has been the recipient of two textile residencies at Peters Valley School of Craft in Layton, New Jersey and at Harbourfront Center in Torontro, Ontario.

Caroline communicates how she sees the world through drawing, and then translates these drawings into patterns. She is drawn to species, places and moments in history that are overlooked by society. Through her work she tries to honor these forgotten subjects and bring their stories and identities back into the spotlight.

Caroline is passionate about slow craft and Canadian design. She hopes to show the world just how much handmade objects and natural dyes have to offer.
